finished driver's ed. woo. and

finished driver's ed. woo. and here's a little story.

so i have been driving a little less than a month (5 more until i get my liscence. woo!) and the other day i was on i-45 going south into galveston from my house to go to the beach (about a 50-minute drive). anyway, i was in the farthest right-hand lane because that's the lane i merged into, obviously, and i avoid changing lanes on the freeway when i don't need to. so this big truck towing a trailer is on the frontage road to my right, and he was going to merge onto the freeway. i could have pulled off speeding up so he could merge behind me, but being the nice person i was, i slowed down and let him in front of me. no sooner had he merged into traffic than the washing machine which had previously been sitting (unrestrained!) on his trailer came sliding off from the centrifugal motion of the merge. seeing as how he'd just entered traffic in front of me, i was rather close to him (closer than i should have been). lucky for me, there was no one too close in the two lanes to my left, i quickly swerved into the middle lane, but because the momentum of the washing machine was circular, it actually kind of chased me into having to swerve into the far left lane. mom was surprisingly calm. i've only been driving for 25 days. grar. :op

anyway, so having narrowly avoided that accident, i proceeded more cautiously the rest of the way, and as i'm going over the causeway to galveston island, guess what pulls in front of me. none other than another truck with two washing machines in the back. o_0 but this driver had some sense and actually tied them down (novel idea, really). though, as you can imagine, i kept quite a nice following distance after that. :op

teh band camp starts tomorrow!!!1

teh band camp starts tomorrow!!!1

estoy escuchando: danny elfman - spider-man soundtrack

i have been driving for one month today.

band camp started today! woohoo. well actually it wasn't that eventful. when i got there i quickly realized i didn't have my physical form (a lot of people didn't either) and i had to come back home to get it. well, i got back and finally got to hear what the opener of our show is going to sound like. it sounded okay on tape. i'm hoping it will sound even better on the field. and you really can't judge show music on one listening, either. you also have to see what the drill looks like and see how the band sounds before you decide if it's going to be awesome or not. i'm going to be a sophomore. eee.

after band i ended up going to the library with family. twas uneventful too. then i came home, and i did nothing. and that was uneventful. then i just now went swimming, but mom dunked me and in my effort to resist, i kicked too hard and gave myself a charlie horse in my left calf. :o( i'm hoping it's gone by tomorrow morning or else practice is going to be painful. i must go get something to drink now.

not much has been happening.

not much has been happening. been getting up at 7 to go to band camp every morning, which has been pretty fun. and challenging. yesterday i went to the museum to see an exhibit on artifacts from the titanic that they've brought up and it was really, really cool. kind of sobering too. my auditions are tomorrow. *bites fingernails* oh well. what happens happens. not much else to say...

i will have had my

i will have had my blog for a year tomorrow.

the days have been uneventful. for example, right now, i am doing laundry. things should get interesting when i start back to school. which i am dreading more than anticipating, the opposite of last year.

one year! i started this

one year!

i started this blog exactly one year ago today, on august 13. it's hard to believe it's been that long, but one of the main reasons i started my blog was to chronicle my high school experiences, and the first year of high school just completely flew by. so fast. there were times when i neglected to update for a while (okay, a month or two, lol.) but on the whole, i think this blog has definitely served its purpose. i hope it continues to do so for the coming year and beyond.

i hope everyone likes the new design. i'm not sure how long it will be up, but i kind of enjoy it. i might be finding a replacement for the stormtrooper picture, but other than that, i think i'll keep it like this for a while.

i wish i had more energy to type more about the one year anniversary of my blog, but i'm worn out from band camp and real life at the moment, so i think i'll just leave it at that. :o)

this post is especially for

this post is especially for emily.

today has been a bad!day™. i had to go to sectionals which were no fun, and they decided to add someone to first trombone. which would have been good, except it wasn't me. doesn't really matter. i stole a copy of the trombone i part to our show and i'm playing that anyway. *shrug* but whatever. and then results were posted. not only did i not make first band (my only real goal), i made last chair, last band. *sigh* and home hasn't been much better either, i've been dropping everything like i'm some kind of clumsy oaf and i have a headache which excedrin is not helping.

and the wrist problem has become increasingly more complcated. i can no longer do a horns-up without a sharp-shooting pain starting at my wrist and going all the way to my elbow. it feels exactly like an electrical shock, if you know what that feels like, so it's definitely a nerve problem. *sigh* i fear it will come to deciding between my wrists or band. heh. going to choose band. ::waves byebye to functioning wrists later in life::

shopping spree! hehe. my whole

hehehehe. i'm so happy. *does the i-have-lots-of-books dance*

oh, and i've decided i

oh, and i've decided i don't care what band or chair i'm in. too little time to be sweating stupid details.

i have to wake up

i have to wake up in five hours to go sort through band uniforms. but hey, volunteering for uniform crew = muchos brownie points. brownie points are good. anyway. for some reason i'm still here. perhaps should go to bed.

uniform crew is fun! hehe.

uniform crew is fun! hehe. you just run in circles taking uniforms off racks and putting them back when they don't fit people. i didn't feel like going through the trouble of getting myself one though, lol. i guess i'll get mine on monday. oh, and i asked mr. turner for a copy of our show from last year, and if he remembers to bring it, i should have a copy of it captured and uploaded soon so everyone can see it! yay. :o) and the band pool party is tonight. i'm debating on whether or not to go, since i'm tired from uniforms and the water is going to be really cold after all the rain we've had lately. we'll see how that goes. oh, by the way, does this layout look okay for you? it works for me but i don't know how well it works in lower resolutions. if you can't see the "b" and "planet" buttons under the stormtrooper, can you tell me so i can fix it?

i have come to the

i have come to the conclusion that my mom and i have a serious role-reversal problem. here i am trying to listen to my a beautiful mind soundtrack like a good little boy in my headphones. and what is my mother doing? she is using her big stereo system to blast staind - for you at me as loud as is physically possible. my mother's music is driving me to hurt small children. *screams* the irony of it all is hilarious, but argh! :op

i slept late, lol. i

i slept late, lol. i think i'm just going to lounge around like this for a little bit, and read some of harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban before we go to chuch/out to eat/to the mall. which reminds me. this week is my week to pick where we eat. where should i pick? leave a suggestion in the comments. :op

oh, and i shrunk the

oh, and i shrunk the stormtrooper. how is it in 800x600 now?

*laughs*

*laughs*

i'm working on a new

i'm working on a new design for dw.c. i hope it works out. :o)

so tomorrow is my last

so tomorrow is my last day of vacation. :o/ today was nice, though. read some of the book, then went to church and out to eat at red lobster (yummy yummy :o)) then we went to the mall where i picked up the black hawk down soundtrack, which i am listening to and which thoroughly rocks. but i expected no less of hans zimmer. i finished the design for dw.c! check it out, and tell me: does it load too slow? this would make me happier, if i didn't have a splitting headache that just now came on suddenly. :o( *takes some medicine*

last day of vacation, and

last day of vacation, and my parents' 18th anniversary. (happy anniversary!) and i'm wasting it in front of the computer. how typical. :op well i don't think i'm going to have enough time to do a costume for dragon*con, and to tell you the truth, my heart hasn't been in it lately. i think i'll just enjoy the con in my blue jeans. that is, if we don't do the bucket-troopers. bwahaha. *ahem* i'm excited about tomorrow, but sad that my summer's over. oh well, i can hope my teachers are nice this year. last year i had a few really good teachers and a few really bad ones. i would settle for all mediocre, but i'd just like to avoid the ones that just hate children. alas. i will tell all about it tomorrow.

so there it is. advisory:

so there it is.

advisory: my advisory dude is an aggie. he's like so proud of his ffa awards, of which he has many hanging in his class. and he's only been out of college for like a year. he seems cool, though, if not clueless.

period 1, band: yeah, band's pretty much what i expected it to be. lol.

period 2, english: my english teacher seems less than perfect, which is what i'd been praying for. i couldn't take one more know-it-all perfect-grammar edits-the-newspaper-for-fun english teacher. but, the downside is that she doesn't look like she's going to give any less work. :o/ we're starting the iliad on wednesday. happy joy. got happy happy mythology packet to read and answer questions on. *sigh* i remember why i hate english.

period 3, spanish: teacher seems nice enough, if not a little disorganizes and clumsy. she's old though. she said this was her 30th year of teaching. lalala. she taught the class in spanish. i was the only one that understood her.

period 4, chemistry: the teacher is pretty cool. the first thing he's going to have us do is have a safety-goggle dying party where you dye your goggles whatever colors you want to distinguish them from other people's. chemistry is fun, so this shouldn't be a hard class for me to get through.

and then of course, i did uniform crew. which wore me out. i want dinner. :op

just got home from a

just got home from a 12 hour day on 5 hours of sleep. too tired for an entry today.

death to people who do

death to people who do not come to get their uniforms and cause us to have to have a make-up day.

blogger.... i have not forgotten thee. t.g.i.f. i thought the week would never end. it's been tough getting back on a school schedule and i just realized i'm committing suicide with the courses i'm taking. some interesting tidbits:

we have a gay transvestite at our school now. i forsee him being a never-ending source of entertainment for us. yesterday he donned a fluffy shirt and a beautiful sleek ankle-length skirt. today found him in pink pants and carrying a purse. what's even funnier is that i knew him way back when he was normal.

my history teacher said the phrase "ladies and gentlemen" 40 times in an 80-minute period. stay tuned for subsequent tallies.

school food is good. i never would have believed it, but the pizza there is actually like, yummy. yum yum yum. and the cafeteria ladies speak english!

#include <iostream.h>

int main() {

cout << "hello world!";

return 0;

}

car wash was today. :o)

car wash was today. :o) we washed 200 cars way before our time was up but we still kept going for another half hour or so before we left. twas fun. and oh! i'm going to have a costume after all! two in fact. i'm going as a non-descript elf, a non-descript jedi, and of course, a bucket trooper. w00t. :o)

correction: i had forgotten that

correction: i had forgotten that we had decided to go with darth maul instead of non-descript jedi.

tomorrow. :od lalala. decided that

tomorrow. :od lalala. decided that face paint is not cool to be wearing the whole convention. am now non-descript sith and non-descript elf.
