okay, i think i'm totally
okay, i think i'm totally geeked out for the day.
i woke up this morning and went to region band chair auditions - the ones for the people who advanced from the region tryouts last week. it took forever for them to call us into the audition room and even longer for the actual auditions. all in all - six hours. i did okay, i made 6th chair in the concert a band (which is 17th overall, out of 29) but i think i could have done better.
came home for a bit and listened to the nn potter people whine about the new color scheme for a bit. then it was off to the movie theater, where our school's drumline was playing. one of our tenors works there and convinced the manager to let them take their drums in and play for everyone. it was really cool, and like a ton of people from the band came. of course, we all went to go see drumline after the little performance. we were expecting it to be laugh-out-loud horrible but it was really not that bad. and to the credit of the movie, i couldn't find one thing wrong with it (i.e. playing snares with tenor mallets or something stupid like that). and orlando jones (the 7-up guy) is a disturbingly good band conductor. anyway, that took another four hours.
so yeah, i'm thinking i get the geek prize for today.

excitedness and things!! today started
excitedness and things!!
today started out eh, but nothing was especially bad. then when i was about to go home, i heard that band auditions results were posted... i ran in to the band hall and found everyone crowded around the lists on the window. i couldn't find my name on the symphonic band list... and guess where it was? wind-freaking-ensemble! like, the top band in the school. excitedness ensues. hehehe.
then i went to the mall and bought the two towers soundtrack, which is über good and stuff. so yes, andy very happy today.

i went to the mall
i went to the mall today to replace my hat that got stolen and ended up going by sam goody and picking up the soundtrack to signs. i really want to start a new section at darthwhoever.com with soundtrack and movie reviews. i think i'm gonna work on that and get it up and going before the holiday's over. yes, that will be my project for the holidays. :o)
